CUFFS: REAL LIFE

How far dose the extract try to create a sense that it is portraying "real life"

This extract tries to create a feeling that it is showing real life by showing the police officers in normal places to make them look like a part of society. The officers are seen in the city centre in a restaurant and on the streets around the city. Many of these locations are seen in normal life so this then makes them look included in society and everyday life. Seeing the officers here make them a part of normal life which everyone experiences.

Another way the film tries to show a sense that it is showing real life is by showing the police officers trying to arrest people who have committed a crime. The female officers are shown in a close up moving shot talking about Jake the new officer. The clip we see a tractor crashing into a shop to steal the cash from the shop ATM, we then see the officers call for backup to try and help. Seeing the officers doing this makes them look like a part of society and a part of normal life.

What is pov shot and what meaning could it create

A pov shot is a point of view shot which is like the persons perspective. This could be used in a film to show what someone is looking at to give us an idea of what they might be thinking of by knowing what they look like.

Lego industry

LEGO INDUSTRY

Ensemble cast:

An ensemble cast is one which is made up of multiple principal actors and performers who are shown on the screen for equal amounts of time.

Conglomerate:

Is a company that own several companies involved in mass media enterprises, is something that not many people even know of, but it is very important in understanding where your news is coming from and from which sources as different sources may vary.

Vertical integration:

Vertical Integration is when a Media Company owns different businesses in the same chain of production. 20th Century Fox owns the studios in Hollywood, they also own the cinemas, the TV channels and the DVD rental shops.

Franchise:

Is a selection of films and products produced by one? An example of this could be Star Wars or marvel.

Synergy:

The impact of effect of a number of media activities is greater than the amount of their individual effects on consume.

Tent-pole production:

In broadcast programming and moving pictures a tentpole is a program or film that supports the performance of a film studio or television network.

How dose Emmet come acroos

How does Emmet come across? How effective would this trailer be in promoting the film?

Emmet is shown as an ordinary guy with nothing special about him and is the same as everyone else.  During the film we see him perform star jumps which he struggles with after only completing two. Later, we see him follow an instruction manual word this indicates that he doesn't think for himself and dose what he is told. We could compare this to some people now who just follow the crowd and do what everyone else is doing and does not be unique. We also seem him pay extreme amounts for a coffee and only buys it to fit in and look cool which shows how much he wants to fit in.

This trailer would be very effective because it takes a popular brand and combines it into a very good film. The bright colours are especially attractive and eye catching. Finally, the song “everything is awesome “is very addicting and keeps the film in people minds.

Age Rating

Age ratings:

Part 1: The Lego movie is rated a U which means there isn't any offensive or any inappropriate language. Warner Bros have included fight scenes which are allowed as they don't include blood or gore as they are only for older rated films. The Lego figures kick and punch at each other this will entertain children whist not being violent.

Part 2: The PEGI 3 game will not contain any inappropriate content, but it may be too difficult for people of the younger audience to complete. Whilst some PEGI 18 games that are easy and fun to play but contain features that are inappropriate for younger audience but may be more suited to an older audience. The Lego Movie game in my opinion would be defiantly more suited to the younger audience as it is quite cartoony and dose not offer any inappropriate content.

Film Report

Media Report

We started filming outside near a brick wall to get the most industrial look we could get for our film. I moved the camera very slowly to get the least amount of shake possible. Then we gave Luca a big black jacket and a mask to cover his identity to make it seem as real as possible that something illegal was happening. I moved the camera behind bars and made it seem as if I was hiding not to get spotted to look like the trade between Toyan and Luca was meant to be a secret and for no one to see.

Next, we did our materials and put them all on the table in such a way that it looked very professional with all the blue prints, money, passports and secret files. Just like in the first filming we moved the camera very slowly with a fluid movement. Then we zoomed into all the key points of interest on the table that we had laid out. After we had filmed, we went over the footage and cropped out all the footage where you could see the floor or table to look as real as possible that this was a legit investigation.

Penultimately, we got the car for our intro and a white sheet of paper with our film name on it. Then with the camera took hundreds of photos of the car as it drifted through the piece of paper. At the end we drove it though are film name to make an elaborate ending. On the editing software on the computer we tried many different frame rates to make the film look as smooth as possible we found 30fps to be too fast but 10fps to be to slow are choppy. Finally, we found the right frame rate 22fps which was not to fast but not too slow.

Finally, with our editing which we have not fully completed in our first film we want to have a dark tone to the film. In our second film we want to add suspense music to really make it seem that like files are extremely important. In our last film with the car we want to tire screeching and the sound of rubber burning.
